We specialise in the design and manufacture of ground-breaking renewable-energy technology products.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to play a critical role in supporting the design engineering team in the development of new products and improvements to existing designs.
You will be working alongside a dedicated team of electrical, mechanical and firmware engineers, in a creative and innovative environment, to identify potential issues and propose and test solutions on a mixture of single and three systems, power circuits, Comms, IO devices, sensors, etc.
Using PCB schematics and CAD software and test tools to evaluate designs to ensure compliance to the applicable standard and enhance the product reliability.
Responsibilities:
Designing electro-mechanical test equipment and jigs and fixtures using PCB and CAD design software and designing basic FW code routines to enable automation and data collection for testing products and components to ensure high standards in product quality and reliability.
Developing and testing against comprehensive technical test plans to meet both company and relevant compliance standards.
Identifying improvements in test methodologies and techniques to enhance component and product testing.
Debugging mechanical and electronic operations of product designs, in conjunction with subject matter experts.
Leading RCA, FMEA studies and verifying corrective actions and improvements.
Generating comprehensive technical reports.
Qualifications and Experience:
BSc or degree in an electronic discipline, or demonstrable experience in this area.
Proven experience with the testing of electrical/electronic analogue and digital PCB components and products in a lab environment.
Strong problem solving, fault finding and diagnostic skills of electrical systems, instrumentation, and circuit design; including the use of; oscilloscopes, data loggers & acquisition devices, EMC and/or electrical safety compliance test equipment.
Understanding of programming languages, specifically embedded C or other microcontroller platforms e.g., Arduino, Raspberry Pi.
Experience with 3D printing technologies, CNC/CAM,
Experience with Matlab, Simulink and Labview or other National Instruments (NI) software platforms.
Experience against IPC 620 and 610 standards for repair.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to manage and prioritise workloads.
Strong team player and also able to work well on own initiative.
Previous mentoring experience.
